If you have a backyard swimming pool and are hosting a children's birthday party, you already have built-in entertainment. Your child's guest will love playing and swimming in the pool while celebrating your special day.
Here are five ways you can make your child's birthday party around you pool even more exciting:
1. Make Sure There Is Plenty of Supervision
It's hard to know the swimming skills of all of the child guests at your party. You want to make sure everybody has fun but still have a safe time.
Recruit more adult supervisors than you normally would need for a birthday party. These can include older children, other family members, friends, and neighbors. You can even invite the parents of your child's guests to stay so they can keep an eye on their children if they would like.
2. Make It Clear on the Invitations that It's a Pool Party
The last thing you want is for your guests to show up without a bathing suit. Still, it's a good idea to have a spare suit or two available just in case.
3. Include a Bounce House Rental
Bounce houses are the perfect addition to any special event, including pool parties, birthday parties, church picnics, block parties, and many others.
For safety's sake, make sure the bounce house is located in a place far away from the pool.
4. Plan for a Longer Party
You already know that it's going to be hard to get the children out of the pool. So why not just plan for a longer than normal birthday party?
5. Keep a Separate Area for Eating and Gifts
Birthday cake and other party treats don't mix well with swimming pools. So set aside a separate area for eating and for when it's time to open the presents. This will help prevent soggy accidents.
